Labor day reunion with 305 & Co. in Ithaca! So nice to be back at Cornell, especially with everyone. Just for the weekend, we can pretend we're seniors again reliving the Cornell experience all over again. Got a Cornell quarterzip! :)

Getting CTB bagels and pitchers of beer like the good ol' days. The pizza bagel tasted even better after being deprived of CTB for so long. And of course, the beer is just as good, even better with company.

Nature Adventure Part I: Cascadilla Gorge Trail
The trail was under construction the entirety of our senior year and opened after we graduated. We took a casual stroll along the trail, dipped our toes in the water, sat on the ledge and hung out. Had some silly moments where Nancy, Steve and I threw rocks in the water trying to get the biggest splash to get each other wet. I miss these goofy moments. We worked up a sweat coming up the trails.

Ithaca Beer Co! The food and drinks are always just slightly above average, but the area is really nice to hang out with. It's such a chill spot to just get beer and talk and play games. Nancypants and I shared a pizza and burger. Note to self: the burgers are much better than pizza. We played cornholes and boche ball, and we all sucked. Womp. I got a Ithaca Beer Co metal sign and put it up at my desk at work! Now when I look up I'll think of Ithaca Beer Co!

Nature Adventure Part II: Beebe Lake
Robert joined us Sunday evening as the NY crew left. On Monday after we got our usual CTB, we ventured to Beebe Lake and over the foot bridge we walked across every day as freshmens. Still hard to believe how we hiked up that hill every day, especially in the winter. We spent a lot of time by the mini falls where people gorge jump off of. Dipped our feet in the water and did stupid stuff. Robert jumped from one side of the gorge to the other (a mini one) - the most nerve wrecking moment of the whole weekend, but he lived. We saw a bunch of freshmen gorge jumping and swimming, definitely freshmen. Sigh... kind of do miss those days.

Woke up nice and early and this was the view from the Hilton Downtown. Ithaca is so beautiful and every time I come back I'm just like 'wow.' It felt really good waking up at 6am to this. :)

Obviously.. the first stop in Ithaca is CTB! We got there at like 7am and there were only 2 other people. No line and the food came so quickly. Got my go-to chicken and broccoli pizza bagel with white garlic. Noms so delicious, perfect start to the perfect weekend.

Then for the next couple of days, we spent at least 2 hours each day chalking the sidewalks of Cornell. Both Bev and my first times chalking and I think we did a pretty good job for amateurs! It was so sad because on Saturday it rained for like 20 minutes, and washed our chalk away. But we went back to the same place and rechalked it!! Also, learned that chalking is a form of workout for your legs. I My inner thighs were sore for a good two days after chalking.

We woke up at 7am to set up for the Homecoming booth. I thought it would be a quick set up, but the giant chalking we did took over an hour. And right when we finished the first group came. Our location was perfect - right next to the free tshirts and we got so much traffic. At peak times, we were way short-staffed and were all running back and forth explaining the challenge to students while talking to them about People + Money. The fun ended short when it rained, and we packed up and left.

We rested for a little bit at the Statler, and then went out on Cayuga Lake on John's boat. He own's a freakin' boat.. It's not big but still a boat. We drove around Cayuga, stopped in the middle to chat and drink beer, and then picked up Chang from a dock on the east side of the lake. Chang got off a cab at a dock, to go back on the boat. Cab drive must've been like wtf... But then we drove even further up north to Taughannock. Then got gas at Don's Marina - super sketchy looking shack and owner. And on the way back we finished even more beer, totaling over 15 per person the entire trip. We continued drinking through the rest of the night, and played games and hung out with John's frat basement until 5am in the morning. Best part was we got a free cab ride for 2 blocks going back to the Statler. Such a blast with everyone out that night.

Dry run in Hollister and it was clear that everyone needed rehearsal. Speakers were a bit rusty and emcees can definitely use a little more practice. But things looked pretty good!

People + Money! This event has been months in the planning and we've poured hundreds of hours into this. Bev and I have been the main organizers of this with the help of 4 other alums as well as other recruiters. We essentially built it from scratch to bring People + Money externally to Cornell, and we had no idea how it would turn out. The weeks leading up to this was so stressful, and we had several last-minute panics, but luckily everything was resolved.

Students lined up the entire length of Duffield, from Phillips to Upson. I've never seen this before. Shows how far students are willing to go for Dino BBQ (and maybe Capital One...).

The event was amazing. Blew my mind and was way better than I expected. We had more people in the room than the capacity and people were engaged in the topics! A lot of people came for the Dino BBQ, but majority of them stayed for the talks, which was all that mattered. I've never seen an info session that packed, up to a point that students were sitting on the floor, and yet stayed the whole time. I couldn't have asked for a better team to plan this event.

Post People + Money. We were all exhausted yet relieved that the event was a success. Reading through the surveys we got some pretty solid feedback. Now time to celebrate!!

After a long night of celebration with awesome people, it was finally time to head back to DC. John, Bev and I struggle big time in the morning and did a tour around Cornell. We went to Carriage House, around campus through the Arts Quad and Ho Plaza, into Johnson Museum and to the Slope. Cornell is so beautiful and it's so nice to take it in, especially as alums. Then we began our 6 hour journey back to DC to wrap up a successful trip in Ithaca.
